On the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, the Fort Myers Philharmonic opens its inaugural season with Honoring Our Heroes, a moving tribute to local first responders and all who serve our community with courage and dedication. The program begins with Samuel Barber’s haunting Adagio for Strings, one of the most profound works in the orchestral repertoire. The Philharmonic will then be joined onstage at Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall by the acclaimed Fort Myers Symphonic Mastersingers and a quartet of celebrated nationally renowned vocalists for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s monumental Requiem. This special commemorative concert brings together orchestra, chorus, soloists, reflection, and community connection for an unforgettable evening of music that honors sacrifice, remembrance, and hope.
